Border Christian College
Brief
The objective was to develop a social media presence for Border Christian College that felt like the school talking to its own community rather than advertising to it. A small Pre-Kinder to Year 12 school in Thurgoona, in the Albury-Wodonga region, BCC wanted its feed to sound plain, warm, and sincere, closer to a principal's message than a marketing campaign. The goal was to create communication that reflected the school's close-knit, Christ-centered culture with clarity and authenticity, connecting naturally with both current and prospective families while remaining clear, professional, and engaging.

Challenge
The greatest challenge was capturing the school's atmosphere honestly rather than commercially. Border Christian College has served the Albury-Wodonga community since 1950, growing from a single classroom into a full Pre-Kinder to Year 12 campus built around a close-knit culture where students are known personally and Christian care shapes daily life. The difficulty was ensuring the school's social media reflected that same spirit without feeling like a campaign. BCC did not want a highly commercial presence, so the work became developing a voice that was calm, sincere, and community-centered, closer to genuine school communication than promotional advertising.

Discovery
Understanding what made the school distinctive shaped the entire approach. BCC's identity lived in its everyday values, moments, and relationships: students being known by name, Christian care expressed through daily life, sport as a pathway to character development, and the belief that each child should be supported academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. These insights pointed away from conventional marketing and toward content built from the culture already present in the school, communicated in a steady, trustworthy voice that families would immediately recognize as their own.

design
The social presence was designed as an extension of community communication rather than traditional marketing, built around the school's existing values and relationships. Through close collaboration and ongoing refinement with the school, a clear editorial framework was established: leading with meaningful school moments and values, maintaining a community-centered tone, keeping captions clear and easy to read on mobile, presenting enrolment and school information naturally and non-intrusively, and preserving faith-centered language with warmth and sincerity. The result was a social voice that closely reflects the school itself, warm, grounded, and clear, communicating naturally with current and prospective families alike. Just as importantly, the collaboration produced a repeatable editorial framework that supports long-term consistency, and a presence that reflects what makes BCC distinctive: a Christ-centered community where students are known personally, cared for intentionally, and supported as whole individuals.
